This is the 11th Annual Endless Summer Run put on by Don's Friends and the Friends Of Anastasia. Friends of Anastasia's mission statement is "Friends gathered together to celebrate, protect and enhance the natural beauty in Anastasia State Park". We are a Citizens Support Organization for Anastasia State Park which means we support the park by providing programs and services that the state of Florida does not have the resources to do. Assisting in the ranger station, purchasing native plants for eroded areas, funding educational materials, sponsoring park events, and providing volunteers for general park works are some of the things we do. Funds to support all this are a result of the Endless Summer Run, our largest yearly fund raiser.
We are always looking for new members who love Anastasia State Park as much as we do. Membership is $25 a year and you can buy a membership with your registration for the Endless Summer Run for only $20! Not only do you save $5 but ALL memberships get 12 free passes to Anastasia State Park, which in itself is a $96 value. So come on out and support the Endless Summer Run!
About the Run
10K (6.2 mile) Cross Country Run
This 10k (6.2 mile) run through Anastasia State Park's beach, hammock, and saltmarsh takes you through some of St. Johns County's most beautiful terrain. The race begins with a beach loop, traces pavement, dirt roads, and soil through the east nature trail and hammock loop. Runners will hit the pavement and trail again as they head to the marsh loop. The last leg of the run shoots the runners back down the main park road to the beach for a final loop on the sand. This is a cross country run and participants must be fit to run or walk on soft sand, uneven terrain, mixed pavement types, and hills with sun exposure, heat, and humidity, etc. Please contact Brittany Sims at the race hotline (904) 461-2035 if you have any questions about the race.
5K (3.1 mile) Beach Run/Walk
This 5K beach walk starts and ends on Anastasia State Park's beautiful beach. This is a low tide beach loop run/walk on sand.
